Won't be going back!

4 May 2024

I had high hopes for my Christmas market cruise aboard MSC Euribia, expecting a festive and relaxing getaway. Unfortunately our cruise fell far short of expectations, leaving much to be desired in several key areas.

Firstly, the wait times for drinks were exasperatingly long. Whether it be at the Atmosphere Pool or the bars and lounges inside the ship, the service was consistently slow, and it was often easier to fetch drinks myself than wait for bar staff to take my order. I know, first world problems and all that – but we paid a lot of money to be onboard, and we expect better than what we got.

The dining experience in the main restaurant Aurora Boreal, was equally disappointing. The quality of the food was underwhelming, with many dishes arriving lukewarm and lacking flavour. Given the festive season, I had expected some special holiday meals like Turkey to appear on the menu, or at least a higher standard of culinary offerings, but everything was very basic and didn’t feel christmassy at all.

To add to my frustration, the spa, which I had looked forward to long before booking was a letdown. Every time I attempted to book a treatment, I was told that there were no available slots. It seemed there was inadequate capacity to accommodate the number of guests interested in the spa services, which was surprising and quite inconvenient. My cruise on MSC Euribia was far from the joyful holiday escape I had anticipated. Long waits, poor food, and the inability to enjoy the spa facilities left me feeling more stressed than when I boarded. Euribia is a beautiful ship, but I believe MSC needs to address these issues urgently to improve the experience for future cruisers, especially during such a busy season as the Christmas markets. Would I go back? Absolutely not, sorry!
